Celebrating Apprentice Week: Recognising Outstanding Talent at CMS
Apprentice Week gives us the perfect opportunity to celebrate the dedication, progress, and achievements of the talented individuals shaping the future of our industry. At CMS, we are incredibly proud of our apprentices and the commitment they demonstrate both in the workplace and in their studies.
Joseph Snow – Electrical Apprentice of the Year 2026
A huge congratulations to Joseph Snow, who has been named Electrical Apprentice of the Year 2026.
Joseph was nominated by Macclesfield College in recognition of his outstanding performance. He has completed all of his exams, achieving distinctions across the board, and is fully up to date with his Off the Job Hours.
Going above and beyond expectations, Joseph has completed his coursework ahead of schedule and has proactively asked his tutor for additional tasks. As a result, he is now further advanced than his peers and is on track to complete his course early.
Joseph has been consistently praised for his positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and dedication. His drive to continuously improve makes him a fantastic ambassador for apprenticeships and for CMS.
Lucas Danks – National Recognition at the BESA Awards
We are also proud to celebrate Lucas Danks, our HVAC Apprentice, who achieved national recognition in December.
Lucas was awarded Service and Maintenance Apprentice of the Year 2025 at the prestigious BESA Awards in London. This achievement reflects his hard work, technical ability, and commitment to excellence within the HVAC sector.
The Role of CMS Academy
At the heart of these achievements is the CMS Academy — the perfect place for our apprentices to learn, train, and develop their skills. The Academy provides a supportive environment where apprentices can gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and prepare for long-term careers in the industry.
Guided by our Apprentice Manager, Geoff Barrass, our apprentices receive the mentorship and structure needed to reach their full potential. His leadership plays a key role in creating a culture of encouragement, accountability, and ambition.
Investing in the Future
The success of Joseph and Lucas is a testament to what can be achieved when talent, opportunity, and strong mentorship come together.
We are proud to invest in the next generation of engineers and specialists, and we look forward to seeing our apprentices continue to grow, achieve, and lead the future of our industry.
