Nic Smith, director of Gateshead-based Commercial Maintenance Services (CMS) UK Ltd, has welcomed Boris Johnson’s announcement of a £5bn recovery plan to spend on infrastructure projects, such as schools and hospitals.
The family-run company provides a nationwide service installing, maintaining and repairing business critical infrastructure – including heating systems, electricals and plumbing - already has a number of major clients in the education and health care sectors, including HC One and Four Seasons Health Care.
Mr Smith hailed the investment in health and education and added that it would also provide an economic stimulus for those companies such as CMS that have lost clients because of the lockdown.
He said: “CMS works at a national level across a range of sectors and I would like to offer our expertise to support the government achieve these projects in record time.
“If the government is to reverse the effects of many years of austerity and deliver an economic stimulus, then it must work alongside the private sector to ensure these benefits are swiftly realised.”
