The North East Apprenticeship Awards are always a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the incredible talent, dedication and achievements of apprentices and employers across our region. This year's event was no exception, and we are delighted to share that it was an unforgettable evening for CMS.
Joe Hudson Wins Professional Service Apprentice Award
We are incredibly proud to announce that our Commercial Data Technician, Joe Hudson, was crowned the winner of the Professional Service Apprentice Award.
Being shortlisted as a finalist was already a fantastic achievement, but seeing Joe take home the award was a proud moment for everyone at CMS.
Joe's commitment to learning, his enthusiasm for developing new skills and his hard work throughout his apprenticeship have made him a valued member of our team. This award is a well-deserved recognition of the dedication he has shown and the positive impact he continues to make within our business.
Congratulations, Joe! This achievement reflects not only your hard work but also the bright future that lies ahead.

Recognised for Our Commitment to Apprenticeships
Alongside Joe's success, CMS was honoured to be shortlisted in the Large Employer with an Apprenticeship Programme category.
This nomination recognised the work of our CMS Academy-our purpose-built training academy, designed to develop the next generation of engineers and industry professionals. Through structured learning, hands-on experience and ongoing mentoring, the Academy provides apprentices with the skills and support they need to build successful careers within the engineering sector.
Although we didn't win the award this year, simply being recognised alongside some of the region's leading employers is an achievement we're incredibly proud of.
We would also like to congratulate North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust on winning the award. It is fantastic to see organisations across the North East investing in apprenticeships and creating opportunities for future talent.
Investing in the Future
At CMS, apprenticeships are at the heart of our commitment to developing skilled professionals for the future. We firmly believe that investing in people is one of the most valuable investments a business can make.
The success of apprentices like Joe demonstrates exactly why apprenticeship programmes are so important—not only for individuals looking to build rewarding careers but also for businesses seeking to develop talented, motivated professionals from the ground up.
Our CMS Academy continues to play a key role in this mission, helping to nurture the next generation of engineers while supporting the growth of both our business and the wider industry.
Looking Ahead
The North East Apprenticeship Awards were a brilliant celebration of the outstanding apprentices, employers and training providers who continue to make a difference across the region.
We're incredibly proud of Joe's achievement and grateful to have our apprenticeship programme recognised at such a prestigious event.
Congratulations once again to all the finalists and winners. We look forward to continuing our investment in apprenticeships and celebrating even more success stories in the years to come.
