The County Hotel is a three-star hotel from the Cairn Group, located in the city centre of Carlisle.
The hotel offers 84 bedrooms, 4 spacious meeting rooms capable of holding up to 120 delegates and is also home to the Gallerie Restaurant & Portland Bar.
Requirements
Within the Hotel's commercial kitchen, the gas catering appliances were suffering from sub-standard infrastructure with potential compliance issues and no interlock system.
Due to the fact that the Hotel's kitchen was the primary source of catering for guests, conference and meeting delegates and the restaurant, the Hotel required that the works were to be undertaken during a closure period due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Whilst CMS were quick to provide a solution, carrying out the works during this time ensured the kitchen could be fully operational once the Hotel was able to reopen to the public.
Solution
CMS installed a gas interlock controller, gas solenoid, emergency stop buttons and pipework all upgraded and to standard.
The project was delivered on time and on budget and the client was delighted with the quality of the work. Having taken advantage of Lockdown 2.0 there was minimal disruption to normal operations.
