National Private Hospital Group- Gas, Plumbing & Heating

Customer Profile

In 2016 CMS began working with a National Private Hospital Group comprising of 31 award-winning hospitals.

As an independent healthcare provider, their aim is to deliver the highest levels of patient and member safety and care across their range of services from hospital treatments through to private GP services.

Requirements

With a group of national private hospital sites operating 24/7 and increases in the number of patients year on year, the healthcare provider needed not just a reliable heating and hot water maintenance programme but access to a network of nationwide qualified and experienced engineers available in the event of system failure.

From hundreds of patient en-suite shower rooms through to the large water demand of central sterile systems fluctuating constantly, the hospital required an M&E maintenance programme that was bespoke to their requirements.

It was also essential that the appointed contractor had previous experience in delivering services in hospital environments, due to the vulnerability of patients, enhanced health and safety processes and specific access requirements.

Solution

In 2016 CMS were awarded a major contract to provide planned preventative maintenance and 24/7 reactive call outs to the National Private Hospital Group's sites around the UK.

CMS worked with the facilities team to create a schedule of works for annual PPMs for boiler and heating maintenance carried out to SFG20 standards, managed by a CMS Technical Manager and delivered by a national network of enhanced DBS checked and gas safe certified engineers. Due to strict access requirements and patient safety, communicating and reporting at every stage with hospital estates teams was crucial to ensure a rapid response and without disruption to the operations of the hospitals.
